No Kings Locations and Information

No Kings is just around the corner, a gathering where people from all walks of life come together in unity against hatred and division. It means the world to me, just as this group does.

I grew up in a small town, raised by conservative parents, in a world of dusted antiques, soda bar, and gas station taco pizza. I never quite fit in with my family. I couldn't stomach the idea of harming countries that had done nothing wrong, and I believed food stamps were a lifeline, not a handout, that people were struggling, not lazy. We didn't see eye to eye, and we never really did.

Moving to Orlando was a culture shock unlike anything I'd experienced. I learned a lot about myself there, and made more than a few mistakes along the way. Then, in December 2024, after Donald Trump won the election, I called my parents, not expecting much, honestly, given the household I grew up in. They told me they had voted for Trump, and that it was their God-given duty to do so. It crushed me. I cried for days, convinced I had been a fool for hoping things might be different.

Indivisible became my second family. I found people who thought like me, who treated me as an equal, not as a radical, not as a label, just as a person. When I show up to No Kings, I find my people. The very people my family dismissed as idiots handing out freebies, and nothing could be further from the truth. These are compassionate, caring human beings who genuinely want to help their neighbors. It's exactly what Fred Rogers always believed the world could be. And right now, it's exactly what the world needs.

The Resistance Will Be Heard:  A Song For The Visible Resistance

This song is from another member of Central Florida Indivisible. We have posted this song as a SUGGESTION ONLY.

We've made the "Call" sections bold. Group singing leaders should highlight these parts and involve the entire Group afterward, as they are best at doing.

The "Response" sections are highlighted in yellow. (If you're not using a color printer, it will appear in grey.) This is where the whole Group should START joining in the song until the verse concludes and the next one begins.

Regarding the Opening Chorus: ONLY the first time should be a "Call". After the first introduction, the entire Group should know the Chorus well enough that the "Call" and "Response" format is no longer needed in THE CHORUS.

Feel free to print the lyrics or this entire post. You can use the lyrics as a song sheet if desired. You can also print them out for your Groups as a song sheet. But always use your own best judgment rather than anyone else's, including ours.

One last word: ENJOY! FILL NO KINGS DAY THREE WITH JOY! SING ABOUT WHAT WE WANT!

NK3:  "WE SHALL SURELY GROW":

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Like a tree planted by water

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Boomers and Gens together,

We shall grow, we shall surely grow,

Boomers and Gens together,

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Like a tree planted by water

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

We are all partners together,

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

We are all partners together,

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Like a tree planted by water

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Like a tree planted by water

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Black and White and Brown together,

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Black and White and Brown together,

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Like a tree planted by water

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Straight, gay and Trans,

We're all people  together,

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Straight,  gay and Trans,

We're all people  together,

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Like a tree planted by water

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

We shall grow, we shall surely grow

Like a tree planted by water

We shall grow, we shall surely grow.

Feel free to use any song you're comfortable with, in compliance with Copyright Laws. There are no issues with Copyright claims. We composed these new lyrics and do not claim a Copyright on them. The inspiration for this song is as ancient as the Scriptures it's based on and as evident as the American Constitution, as President Kennedy once described it. As if that wasn't enough, songs are meant to be sung from the start. Here is a suggested format for singing this song at your demonstration. This particular song is designed for "Call and Response." To reiterate, this is just a suggestion. Many of you are more knowledgeable than we are about this group singing style.
