Friday October 10, is World Mental Health Day. In these challenging and uncertain times many of us are struggling with all sorts of feelings and emotions. First and foremost, it is important to recognize you are not alone. Say it out loud with me, "I am not alone." At times our feelings can be overwhelming, but support is available. Here are 5 things to keep in mind in order to support your mental health.
1) You're not alone. Millions struggle with mental health issues
2) Progress is rarely linear so don't beat yourself up if you encounter a setback
3) Try to remember to have a sense of humor
4) Being of service helps
5) Never worry alone.
Maintaining our mental health is vital for our own well-being as well as to keep up our advocacy and activism efforts. This week give yourself grace, take a break, seek community, have some fun, because tomorrow is another day.
